Sharing the Love of God with Common Sense

Prayer Calendar

If someone asked you the question, "Who are you?" what would you say?

It sounds like a simple question, but it really isn’t. You may give your name, say you are an American, or you may respond by stating your profession. Often we look for a sense of self-worth in our appearance, performance, or social status. What we do as Christians is determined by who we are—children of God—and not the other way around. Our hope for growth, meaning and fulfillment as Christians is based on understanding who God is and who we are in Him. During this month pray through each of the following:

1.I am accepted. I do not need to feel threatened by others or compete with them, because I am secure and loved (Romans 15:7).
2.I am God’s child. It is a right given to me by God himself. I can call Him my Heavenly Father (John 1:12).
3.I am Christ’s friend. He gave His life for me. He loves me, He has my best interests at heart, and He will stand by me in my lowest moments (John 15:13-15).
4.I have been justified through faith in Christ alone and not by my works. I cannot do for myself what Christ has already done for me (Romans 5:1).
5.I have been bought with a price; I belong to God. I do not need to compromise by beliefs to gain anyone’s acceptance (I Corinthians 6:19-20).
6.I am a member of Christ’s body. God has given me His gifts to edify His Church. I have a significant contribution to make to the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:27).
7.As a child of God, I am a saint (Ephesians 1:1, 18). I am no longer a product of my past—I am a new creation (II Corinthians 5:17)!
8.I have direct access to God through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Through Him, I can come to the throne of grace.
9.I have been redeemed and forgiven of all of my sins (Colossians 1:13-14). I am no longer in bondage to Satan.
10.In Christ, I am complete (Colossians 2:9-10). I will choose to seek to fulfill my purpose in life totally dependent upon God.
11.My security rests solely in my relationship with God and not in financial gain or in pleasing others (Proverbs 3:19-26; 29:25).
12.

I am forever free from condemnation (Romans 8:1-2). Though Satan may accuse me, Christ intercedes on my behalf.

13.

I am assured that all things work together for good (Romans 8:28-30). God is sovereign, and I accept His purpose for my life, even in times of trouble.

14.

I cannot be separated from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39). Though I may suffer for righteousness’ sake, God’s love for me is eternal.

15.

I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God (II Corinthians 1:21-22). He has given me a guaranteed inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14).

16.

I am hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). I set my heart and mind on Jesus, the only valid object of my faith.

17.

I am confident that the work God has begun in me will be finished and perfect (Philippians 1:6). My confidence is in Christ, not in myself.

18.

I am a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20). My hope is in the resurrection, and not in the things of this world.

19.

I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). God is omnipotent and omnipresent, and I fear Him alone.

20.

I can find grace and mercy in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). There is nothing that I will face that God doesn’t understand. He knows my needs.

21.

I am born of God, and the evil one cannot touch me (John 10:29). God is my deliverer, and I am safe in His care.

22.

I am significant (I Corinthians 3:8-9). I will realize my significance as I become a good steward of what God has given me.

23.

I am the salt and light of the earth (Matthew 5:13-16).

24.

I am a branch of the True Vine (John 15:1-5).

25.

I have been chosen to bear fruit (John 15:16-17).

26.

I am God’s temple (I Corinthians 3:16-17). I desire to glorify God in my body.

27.

I am a minister of reconciliation (II Corinthians 5:18-20). I am His ambassador.

28.

I am God’s co-worker (II Corinthians 6:1-2). My significance is not in earthly titles or positions but in what God has called me to do.

29.

I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm (Ephesians 2:6-7). There is no comparable position of honor.

30.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
