What is prayer?
« on: May 19, 2009, 07:02:31 AM »
Prayer is just talking to God.

Often we make it out to be much more than it is.  I'll agree there are as many different things you can do in prayer as you can have in conversations.  There is no one formula that works.  Frankly I tend to believe that those who follow formulas in prayer miss the major benefit of prayer...spending time with God on a personal level.

Sometimes I get so busy living life that I tend to forget to even say good morning or hello to him.  Then other times I can feel his presence so strongly that I shout, sing, praise, and have emotional parties all alone in my home.

One Thangiving I pulled the turkey in the oven toward me to check it and somehow the rack got stuck for a second and splashed boiling hot grease on both my hands. I just cried out "Lord Jesus Christ" and had immediate, complete healing."
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name.

Psalm 138:2 (KJV)

Praise God.  That happened to Ro's daughter this Thanksgiving.  The grease poured onto her legs and she was unharmed.  We serve a gracious and merciful God full of healing!
