Hello Everyone!
« on: November 23, 2009, 07:06:48 PM »
I am new to this forum, but after looking it over, just had to join.  I love a good sense of humor and I also love common sense Christianity. Did I say "common sense"??? It really is not "common".

Brother Tim and I know each other through another board and personal emails and I respect his infallability.   ;D

Well, you see mine! I had to get unsubscribed and re-subscribed to get my name corrected. DUH!
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name.

Actually, I find it reassuring that someone of your caliber can still make mistakes.  It's kind of hard to live up to someone like you. :)

Dear Brother Tim,  :12

If we got to heaven by measuring scales of our mistakes and correctness, my scale of misakes would far outweigh my correctness, I am sure. I am no  :3  and Jesus Christ is my ONLY hope of  glory.

Colossians 1:26-27
26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name.

Psalm 138:2 (KJV)

No one is infallable except God.  All that we do that is really good is because of God's gifts to us, so even when we are at the 'top of our game' we need to give God the glory.

Don't mean to sound critical but have seen too many clergy treat members like peeons and almost expect the members to kiss their hand as they walk by.   We are ALL saints saved by grace with one Lord and one Savior.  There is no maile, female, Greek or Gentile...God loves us all the same and values us all.  Some of those pastors may have a surprise coming in the future.   God loves a humble and contrite heart!

Psa 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (KJV)

Psa 119:37  Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. (KJV)

Isa 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.(KJV)

God wants us to focus on being more like our Lord and Savior Jesus and less focus on how great we are.
That's the way I see it.

God hates pride and vanity but the truth is we ALL have it to some degree.

Brother Tim and I were just "funnning" with one another. Not to be taken seriously, my love!

I don't think you're being critical at all.  You're correct, no one is infallable except God.  And I quite agree with you that pride gets into the hearts of many who are in the ministry.  It's unfortunate that this happens.  It does, however, show us the need for prayer for those of us who are in the ministry.

Satan would love to divide ministers from those who aren't called to the ministry.  I think we're all going to be surprised when we reach heaven.

Welcome Rev Dr Roberta.  I'm not new here but it's been a while since I visited.  It's nice to meet you.
