The Cry of the Spirit

The Cry of the Spirit – Can You Hear It?

There is a voice of one crying in the desert, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

These words, understandably, were the words of John the Baptist, crying out to the people to be prepared for what was about to come. Jesus was about to appear on the scene.

There is a cry going out today, in these last days. It’s very similar to that cry heard long ago. The cry being heard today is:

“Prepare yourself for the return of the Lord. He’s coming soon, for a Bride without spot or wrinkle. Repent of your sins and follow Him. Make yourself ready.”

How many are hearing this cry and heeding it? There are two paths which can be followed. One is narrow – the other broad. One says to “clean up your act.” The other one says, “It’s okay. Do what you want.”

Some, who think they’re saved, will be sorely surprised. Matthew 24 tells us that it is only those who endure till the end who shall be saved. Romans 10:9 speaks also of a future salvation, using the future tense words of “shall be.”

There are those who think that they have their “fire insurance” by having confessed Jesus as Lord once upon a time. They’ve continued in their sin, or have fallen into it again, and stayed there. They are unrepentant.

The love of many will wax cold. Since Jesus said these words, stating that their love will wax cold, the implication is that it wasn’t always like that. These people will fall away from what they once had, being no longer in love with Jesus.

It is time for the Church to return to her first love, doing the first works (of repentance from sin). There will be tests and trials. This is part of the refining process. Those who refuse the process and resist the workings of the Holy Spirit in their lives, will fall away from grace.

You don’t have to be one of them. Stay close to Jesus. Stay repentant and spiritually sensitive to Him. Don’t let the things of the world rob you from your eternal inheritance.

God is calling us to higher ground, where there is peace, joy, life, and all that we need. As we lay aside the weights and the sin, for the purpose of following Him, we will be rewarded with the things that money cannot buy.

And, thank you, Sister Ro, for your words of encouragement...both now and during the times I needed them in the past.
