Speaking live vs recording speeches
« on: October 28, 2009, 03:43:21 PM »
So, what's the real difference between speaking live or speaking into a microphone to create an audio?

Obviously audience vs no audience would be one thing.  Anything else?

I personally give better presentations to a live audience.  The main reason for that is that we receive feedback from the audience.  The non-verbal feedback is powerful to speakers.  I thrive on the reactions that I get from the audience.  That is, unless they are sleeping ... (grin).  Actually NO ONE sleeps when I speak.  ;D

I've been considering the creation of some audios lately.  It would mean setting up a small recording studio, though, because my headset picks up every little breath I take.  It would take forever to edit out those breathy moments. :D

Sounds like a microphone issue not that you need a whole studio.

I recently (last fall) did an interview and was recorded outside in the open air.  I haven't heard the interview yet but he had a huge camera that was 'professional' so it records well.

Also, I have heard some really good audio on YouTube.  I am sure not all of them have a recording studio.  :D

I've discovered an external microphone for around $150 that looks like it may do the trick.  I'll have to buy it and see if it makes any real difference.

Let me know.  I might go that route to get one for my Youtube, audios, and DVDs that I will be marketing.  :)

How do you create videos, audios, and dvds?

That's a very simple question for a very detailed response.  There have been books, courses, and seminars on that type of question.
