Pass It Forward
« on: March 21, 2009, 09:10:09 PM »
Recently I have read the autobiography of Dave Thomas who started Wendys.  It is a very inspiring book.  I love reading about how people got through life.  As I was nearing the end of the book I was talking to an employee at another site within our company and she was telling me about her transfer and discussing her career.  She has called me in the past to discuss her career and the pros and cons of transfering etc.

I told her about the book I am finishing up and she was interested.  Then the idea came to me to Pass it Forward.  I told her I was going to send her the book and asked her to read it and then Pass It Forward.  She loved the idea and even before she got the book she already knew who she was going to Pass It Forward to.

This is a good idea to share specific books with others.  Adding a note on the inside cover that this is a Pay It Forward Book and it should be read and passed on will insure that the readers will share the book with others.

Has anyone ever done anything like this?

No.  I dislike having books with written messages in the front.  I also reread books to assure myself that I have absorbed the knowledge contained within them.  I simply buy a book and give it as a present to those who express interest in reading them.
