Job
« on: February 23, 2008, 09:43:58 AM »
OK you all know I am looking to change my job situation.  The options are to get paid for what I am actually doing, either here or somewhere else in the company or to transfer to another position that is the level at which I am getting paid.

I have tried the first options and have not succeeded in that endeavor.

This last week I submitted my resume for a position upstairs that is the level at which I am getting paid.  The boss is also VERY nice.  I might be able to get excellent evaluations again.  I was called for an interview yesterday.  No time to get all “spivied” up just freshened up and said a prayer and went up stairs.   Next week if I am in the final cut I will be called for another interview with the director of finance.  He is a nice guy too.  This job would have so much less stress.... and I would have time to work on special projects for the department, which is right up my alley.  I love doing Six Sigma projects and developing improvement processes and seeing the company benefit from my efforts.

Anyway, please pray for me concerning this position.  I want it if God wants me to have it.  This position would not require any overtime so I would actually bring home less money but I would have time to work my side business and internet business, which I have not had time to do like I have wanted.

I will keep you posted as to what happens.  It is rather exciting to know that God is in control and we are really just waiting to see what HIS decision is in this matter.

One day when I had submitted my resume for yet another open position, I asked God, WHY do I have to keep doing this...why can't you just tell me where you want me and I will just go there.   I really felt the answer from the Lord was, that would not develop any faith in you would it?  ... I had to admit (of course) he was right.  When we have to wait on the Lord... it does build up our faith.  I am not fond of waiting on the Lord.  I get "fwustwaited" !!!!

More later!

I interviewed over a week ago for a new position at the same facility.  I believe I have a good chance for this position.  While it is not a promotion it will be a new department, which will give me more opportunities for advancement.  The work is very interesting and right up my alley for content and processes.  I will get a chance to develop and present training modules and work on projects for process improvement etc.  The work will be far less stressful and there will be no overtime (THANK YOU JESUS).  I have been currently working 50 to 70 hours each week.  I am so exhausted.

I should hear something definite about this position soon.

God is so good.  It is exciting to know that God is in control and that he has everything going just fine....no matter what it looks like to me.

Thank you all for your prayers!  I will keep you posted.

I have heard for over two weeks now that there is an offer coming.  Now today I got a meeting notice that the Director of Finance wants to meet with me tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.  My first thought was....ohhh no...he wants to interview me so we are starting all over again.  BUT then I thought. . . why not assume this is good news....and maybe the offer.

We will see and I am expecting GREAT news tomorrow.

I will let you all know.

Well it was an interview but a good one.  The director of finance met with me and actually told me he was quite impressed with me.  That was so nice to hear him say that.  I think working for him and the hiring manager is going to be a real joy.

I am looking forward to this new assignment and having time to work on projects that I will allow me to use my expertise and skills that have been unutilized for several years.

I heard that the offer was almost approved but they asked if the director had interviewed me and because he had not, we needed to do that before the offer is approved.

This is sort of normal for our organization for offers to require a lot of steps.  Sometimes people get tired of waiting for offers, especially external candidates, and they get hired by other companies before we get through all our steps.

I am hoping next week I will get the offer.  It is usually sent by email to internal candidates.

Will keep you posted.

Thank you all for your prayers.

I got my offer today.  Yippppeeee!

There are some details to work out but I will be accepting the offer and transfering out of staffing and into finance.

My new manager is a kind person who I will enjoy working for.  Getting down to 40 hrs a week will be nice.  I will get my life back.  I have been working 50-60 hrs a week and my health has begun to suffer.

Praise God for he is always faithful!

I officially transfer next Saturday, April 19, 2008!!!

On Friday they will officially move my office, which will be my computer an about 1 box of office items.

I will be actually sitting in finance on Friday.  I am so excited about my new job.  New beginings and a great boss who is giving me projects to work on to improve their processes and procedures.  All this with a good chance for advancement within finance.

I have worked in HR/Staffing for 7 1/2 years and have enjoied that thoroughly.  However, the Lord has shown me that it is time to move on and he has new horizons for me.  I will be only working 40 hrs a week and I will be on a 9/80 schedule, which will mean I will have every other Friday off.  This will give me time to work on my Internet Marketing that I have been trying to find time to do.  It has been difficult to do that working 50-60 hrs a week.

God is so good.  This is not a job, I would not have sought out, but the hiring manager asked me to submit my resume for his position.  It was like a God thing.  Before I knew it, I was interviewing and then made an offer.  It was a God thing.

Thank you JESUS!!!
