Dr. Ouida E. Walsh

Dr. Ouida E. Walsh is an ordained minister whose call is "Setting the Captives Free and Loosing God's People." She is the founder through God's direction of Break Thru Ministries of Tampa Bay. Ouida, along with her husband, Bud, founded the ministry to answer and provide a place where people could come to receive wholeness in relationships. The ministry was developed to minister the Word of God throughout the world.

This call came during her registered nursing career. Her heart cried out to God to use her to heal the souls of people, as she had begun to realize the healing that so many needed was much deeper than that of a physical healing. Then in 1980, Ouida stepped out in faith and opened her own counseling center.

In 1993 she joined the staff of Riverhills Church of God to start the church's Counseling Center and develop Group Ministries. She is the founder and speaker for the Conquerors Body Ministry Groups.

Ouida states her proudest attribute is to be the wife of John Walsh for 40 years and the mother of three children and grandmother of three grandchildren.

BACKGROUND

Ouida has a Doctorate in Christian counseling, a Masters degree in Biblical counseling and a B.A. in Theology. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Certification as an Associate Professional Addictions Counselor. She authored a Conquerors handbook that establishes guidelines for successful support groups.

Ouida has been a guest speaker on local, state, national and international radio and television. She has conducted training seminars on the Islands of Dominica and Barbados. Ouida has been a speaker at the past three North American Nurses Conferences. She has been instrumental in establishing support groups at the churches in which she speaks.

All the counseling and speaking that Dr.Walsh does is done on a donation bases.  Even the speaking that she does in the churches she does not set a fee.  She has always known the Lord to provide.  

Dr. Walsh was the first to go out and teach churches about support groups.  She began this ministry 15 years ago and praises God that now many others have seen the need and are doing the same thing.  

Whenever she is given the opportunity to speak it is always a Healing Message of the Soul. 

She runs this ministry out of her home and is not on salary in this ministry.  She has a heart for teaching the body of Christ about the healing that the Lord wants for all of us.  That is why she offers an 8 week course on "How To Do Support Groups".  She teaches churches how to set up their own support groups.

The churches can run their own support groups they just need to know that they CAN and once they become equipped with a little knowledge and flow in the Love of Christ they can be a valuable resource to the body of Christ.

When asked if she found churches were able to "take off" with their own support groups after the training she was very candid.  She stated that the key to the success of this sort of ministry within the church is whether or not the Pastor is behind it.  If he is it will take off and be a valuable asset to the congregation.  The Pastor does not have to run the support groups, just support it and endorse it.  

Break Thru Ministry is a Para Ministry that filters into other ministries within the body of Christ.  Dr. Walsh has found that she has been able to help in greater ways by not being on  the staff at any particular church or denomination.  She visits lots of churches as she is there to support the body of Christ.

"Eight weeks ago I was invited to the Family Forum in Washington, D.C.  I feel we have seen the destruction window pushed back for a season.  The plans are to have family oriented laws established in these next 4 years.  I believe there is a revival coming!  The Lord is setting up ministries in the body of Christ, such as Break Thru Ministries, and BelieversBay.com and others to get us ready to minister to those coming in the future revival.  There is an influx of people that will be coming!"   Dr. Ouida Walsh
