There are many obstacles and deterrents in today's world and the average child alone, without proper guidance, is in bad company. Eric Green believes someone must step up and take on the challenge of helping pave a path for today's youth, to educate them in life's necessities, thereby giving them a chance to one day become responsible and productive people. As we know we all have been children at one time, and for some, the chance to become responsible and productive members of society was limited or non-existent.

Green says he will not stop until the job is done, however, he knows it truly takes collective involvement from the whole community to be effective. He challenges everyone who believes in the youth of our communities to join in on this road to ultimately make a difference in many people's lives. He uses the term a lot, "The Youth and the Needy". Therefore if you are 90 years old, we will help you. However, the youth are our future, which is the future of the world. We must take advantage of this opportunity to make a change.

"Everyones Youth United Inc" will service anyone in need, regardless of race, creed, or religious background.

Green states that he has truly been blessed and he intends to pass on the blessings! And he hopes to lead everyone in the community to do their part.

The Vision

"Everyones Youth United Inc" envisions a leadership role with public/community-based programs and services, and to meet the challenges facing children at risk. They incorporate working partnerships with local community and like agencies to reduce juvenile delinquency with the focus on being on at risk youth in general.

They strive for excellence with a highly trained and ethical staff. This in turn will give our youth the tools necessary to make sound judgments for themselves ultimately removing the barriers that would interfere with them building character and becoming productive individuals.

They are providing a safe haven for the youth to educate and encourage them. They instill pride in the heritage of the youth while exposing them to and teaching them to appreciate individuals, instructing them to focus on all our commonalties, not our differences, and ultimately impressing upon them that fact that they CAN become a success.

With ongoing recreational activities and of course, the much needed educational opportunities the gifts of the youth are being enhanced and in some cases discovered.

There are great things happening in the St. Petersburg area and Green is in on the development of programs, curriculums, and implementation of it all to be there for the youth of the local communities.

"Everyones Youth United Inc"  get involved in sports activities and meets the kids where they are.  Green has some ongoing long term goals that are at present just a gleam in his eye but he hears the rumbling of thunder when there may only appear one tiny cloud in the sky.  He knows the needs and he knows God has blessed him and gifted him to provide for the youth.

One of his long term goals is the development of the "Everyones Youth United Inc. Center".  This will include a roller skating rink/Education Center.  He has seen the building that will be renovated to accomplish this.

The youth need constructive and entertaining activated to do in their spare time, as well as, and most importantly, a place to go for help with their education.  They will focus on a suspended kids program, providing after school homework tutoring, workshops, counseling, seminars, etc.  Subjects to be covered include technical education, computers, and health issues, including tobacco, drug, and alcohol prevention.  Many Leisure activities will also be available at the center to offset their daily routine including day trips and outings.

This facility will be located near or in the neighborhood where these problems exist to help them better reach the at risk youth.  Their objective is to reduce delinquency, crime, truancy, and tobacco, drug and alcohol use by offering them constructive and positive things to do with their spare time.

There is also a 24 hour referral help line on the drawing board.  This will aid anyone having difficulties.  It will be manned by real people 24/7.

Their Mission Statement

"Our purpose is to reach out to at risk children in our community, to provide them with enjoyable, constructive ways to use their spare time and to help educate and guide them in the difficult decisions they have ahead of them. Also, our mission is to provide working partners/relationships within the community and to initiate programs and services to the children and families of various communities.

These are the principals and values that guide "Everyones Youth United Inc.": Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, Teamwork, and Spirituality.

  • We believe we must always be HONEST towards our youth. We must make them aware of the dangers inherent in our society, for to hide these truths is to encourage ignorance. Our goal is to give them the tools necessary to make sound judgements for themselves ultimately removing the barriers.

  • We believer we must always act with INTEGRITY, for we can best tech our youth by example. Our goal is to help build character in our youths, of which integrity is a primary component.

  • We believe, through TEAMWORK, we can achieve that, which as individuals we could not do. Our goal is to mobilize as many businesses and people within the community to provide a safe haven for and to help educate and encourage our youth.

  • We believe DIVERSITY is what makes our society unique, Our goal is to instill pride in the heritage of our youth, but expose them to and help them appreciate others.

  • We believer RESPECT is necessary to fully appreciate all people. Our goal is to convey that to our youth, teaching them to focus on our commonalties, not our differences.

  • We believe it is through SPIRITUALITY that our lives can be enriched and we can be truly happy with our lives. Our goal is to impress this upon our youth not with words, but by example in our everyday lives.

History and Background of Founder Eric Green

Eric Green was born in Brooklyn, New York in March of 1958 and raised in a Christian home by Joseph and Dora Green. He has one sister and two brothers and 3 daughters. As a child he played all sports especially baseball throughout his early years. After graduating from J.H.S. 67 and Cardoza H.S. in Queens, New York he went into the military at the age of 17. There he became a Communications Specialist in Ft. Gordon, Georgia, later going on to Europe (Germany). While in Germany he attended the University of Maryland and Chicago City College branches in Germany obtaining various credits in Business, Marketing and Communications.

Green has also worked for other various community based non-profit organizations including Equal Rights Council, C.O.R.E., and while in Baltimore, Maryland he did the fundraising and marketing for the Maryland Special Olympics for the handicapped. He has also worked for a variety of marketing and communication companies such as E.F. Hutton.

When his family moved to Orlando, Florida six years ago he joined the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Eatonville, Florida where Pastor Willie C. Barnes is Pastor. With the help and prayers of Pastor Barnes, his family and the Macedonia Congregation he obtained a true relationship with a power greater than he, whom he calls GOD (Jesus Christ). After visiting various churches in St. Petersburg he has now joined Bethel Community Baptist Church where the Rev. Dr. Manuel L. Sykes is Pastor.

Since his relocation to St. Petersburg, he met Vonda Ebikake who has continued to be his "right hand". They began looking at the needs of the youth especially that of at-risk-youth in the target (CHALLENGE) areas. They were seeking answers to what could be done to initiate education through intervention and prevention measures for our youth and the total revitalization of our communities. Initially they worked with C.B.N. Inc., now a non-profit organization Green helped establish. They marketed businesses and coordinated the biggest Christmas event in St. Petersburg, December 23rd 2000, targeting at-risk-youth, their families and the less fortunate. With the help of his own family members who continue to support his efforts, Children and Family services, Pinellas County School Administration, Churches and a variety of concerned citizens over 200 needy children and their families were in attendance at Lake Vista Community Center in St. Petersburg, for FREE food, toys, Christmas trees, entertainment, and many other giveaways as they were able to have that Christmas that they had prayed for. Companies like Aaron Furniture, Sunrise Chiropractic, and Coca-Cola were very instrumental in making it a success. Since then Green has joined the Negro Baseball League that plays in the famous Campbell Park each month and began familiarizing himself with other organizations, and persons concerned with and servicing the community.

In January 2000 Green established and became the founder of "Everyones Youth United Inc." . Their presence has already been felt in many peoples lives in the community. With a dream, vision and marketing techniques, "Everyones Youth United Inc." continues to grow and become an encompassing positive and effective influence in the youth of the local
communities.
