Focus On Ministry:
Christian
Coffeehouses!

Whether or not you like coffee you will be interested in this Focus On Ministry article.

We found two really "cool" Christian Coffeehouses.

One that maybe somewhat unknown to many however is celebrating it's one year anniversary that is the Coffeehouse at:

Open Bible Church 1200 30th Ave. N.  St. Petersburg.727-527-9782.

They have refreshments, not just coffee, the 2nd Friday of each month.  They are serving their brothers and sisters in Christ with movies and a great family time out.  Be sure to check our Events Page for upcoming movies featured at these monthly gatherings.

Every 2 or 3 months they have a special feature with extra special give-aways.

This ministry is headed up by Michael Champion.  He has a heart for sharing hope and encouragement to the body of Christ.  He has a heart for the lost and knows that they need to come and experience the Love of Christ.

The fellowship and movies begin their activities at 6:30p.m The summer schedule is as followss: are:

  • June 8th     "The Moment After" (79 minutes)
  • July 13th     "Years of the Beast" (98 minutes)
  • August 10th "The Ride" (98 minutes)

The second Coffeehouse we found
is at:

The Berean Christian Bookstore at the Lighthouse Crossing Shopping center managed by Debra Heisele, at the intersection of Tyrone Blvd. and Park street in St. Petersburg.

This coffeehouse is on the 4th Saturday of each month.  They feature LIVE bands.  This ministry within this Christian business is organized by June Hawkins.

They provide refreshments, coffee, of course and light snacks to the public as they listen to the gospel being presented through song.

She feels the cost to Berean, this is NOT a money making venture, is worth every penny because they have seen lives changed by this monthly outreach event.    9

Last Month they featured the band called: Sacred Cry.  With Dan Gordan on Keyboard, John Peeler on bass, Mike Cirasuolo on guitar and Kevin Deschamplain on drums.

Kevin, the drummer, saw the hand of GOD work miracles a couple months ago when his son was in a truck accident.  He and his passenger are ok now.  His friend was in a comma but through the mighty hand of GOD they saw this friend healed and attended one of the last Coffeehouse events.

June says the more she works at these events the more she can see the hand of God.  She can feel the walk in victory come alive in her life as the lives of those whom the Lord brings to these events.

Some other items of interest to you at the Berean Book Store are:

  • Kids Club/Puppet Show (4th Saturday- 10:30-11:30)
