Reaching Out
Positive or Not
By Ro Lashua
Are you positive? Or not? The answer is probably both yes and no to each question. We all are positive at some times and negative at some times. Some of us are better at maintaining one or the other consistently. However, we all have our moments.
It is important that we realize that God is for us and not against us. He knows what is going on in the world. He knows the economy is ‘going south’. He did not ‘wake up’ this morning and say, “Oh no… Look what is happening in America, and in Europe”. All this does not surprise him. He is in control. He does have a plan and he is working the plan.
If anyone has a reason to be positive it is those who are Christian.
While in America we have more freedoms, it is also true there are Christians in other countries that are not so free. It is important to note that God is with them too. He is with those who believe, those who know Jesus as their Savior. When we meet Jesus he is not going to care what nation we came from. He is only going to be looking for those who he knows. Unfortunately to some he will say, “I never knew you,” however, fortunately to some he will say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
We need to continue to build our relationship with Jesus. Not only get to know about him but also get to know him by spending time with him in prayer and study of his word (the Bible).
So let’s review, we know:
• Jesus wants us to get to know him
• He wants us to spend time with him
• We know who we are in Christ
This should give us a real reason to be positive. This should give us hope and encouragement. We, above all people, can look on the bright side and be really positive about life.
