The Power of Positive Thinking
By Tim Russ
It’s not secret that some people live successful lives while others fail to go beyond their limitations. Whether one succeeds in life depends largely upon whether they think in a positive way or a negative way.
We all face problems in life that at times seem insurmountable. We all encounter setbacks and disappointments. We all fail. So what separates the successful from the unsuccessful?
The way we choose to interpret our situation is what makes all the difference. Yes, you may have just lost your job. You can choose to see it as a major setback or you can choose to see it as an opportunity.
Yes, you may have been looking for a job for several months. You can choose to think there are no jobs to be had and you’ll never find one or you can choose to believe that the odds are in your favor because you’ve already eliminated the jobs that didn’t need you.
Will positive thinking put food on your table and pay your bills? No. What it will do is motivate you to do the things that will get you that food and get those bills paid. One thing is for certain. Negative thinking will never put food on your table or pay your bills.
Positive thinking moves us to take action that will change our lives for the better. Negative thinking destroys us and keeps us from having a happy life.
Consider for a moment all the things that have been achieved in history. Now ask yourself a simple question. How many of those great human achievements were the result of negative attitudes? Positive thinking is what moves the human race forward. Without it there can be no great achievement. With it almost anything is possible.
