Humbled Confessions
By Tim Russ
Master I’ve failed once again
To serve in the way I’m called.
I knew the right I should have done.
I had started, but then I stalled.
I wished so hard to serve you Lord,
To please you, Oh my God.
But once again I’ve missed the mark.
I deserve to feel your rod!
In you I’m pleased, my faithful son!
Your faith shows once again!
Yes, I know you missed the mark,
I always see your sin.
Yet as before, I’ve wiped it clean.
Its smudge is wiped away.
My smile will clear the dark of night.
I bring the light of day.
