Reaching Out
By Ro Lashua
Spiritual Warfare is the theme this month. It is a serious topic. It is very real. Many of you know the ownership and publishing of Believers Bay has been passed from me to Tim Russ as of the September 2007 issue. The process, while we know it has been of the Lord, has not been an easy one. We know first hand that in spite of the fact that we have been in the Lord’s will we can experience difficult times. Being in God’s will does not mean that there will not be rough times.
The interesting thing is that we typically have this topic each October. And each October we have had more issues than normal arise to thwart the publication from continuing. Satan is alive and well. He does not want this ezine being published and especially to expose some of his tactics. He is sneaky.
We at Believers Bay have known that we are publishing hope and the love of Jesus Christ. This is something Satan wants to take down. Our new Publisher, Tim Russ, while technically very savvy, has run into extensive technical issues during this transition. Some are normal and some are definitely not normal.
We all need to realize that we can do this, whatever our “this” is. We can do it because of who we are in Christ. With Jesus as our High Priest and Elder Brother and soon coming King, we CAN do this.
We are the victors not the victim. We have victory because we are a child of the Most High God. We are not here to live in bondage. This is a truth that the enemy, Satan, does not want us to know or if we know it, he does not want us to remember it and walk in that kind of victory.
We need to remember this and speak this truth in our life, daily. That is Spiritual Warfare. That is walking out our faith. If at first we do not succeed we must try again and again. Jesus is there to pick us up and so we can move on and walk in victory.
The battle begins in our minds. We must realize that is where Satan begins to try and lead us away. He first gives us doubts. He gets us to wonder if we can have victory. He gets us to feel unworthy, unlovable, undeserving of the kind of love that God has to offer us. Remember this: Satan is a liar. He cannot personally take us down and out but his plan is to get us to quit. Have we ever wondered why we can get so depressed???? It is because he is trying to get us to stop serving the Lord. He is trying to get us to quit walking in faith. He wants us to live in guilt and condemnation. All the things God does NOT want for us, is what Satan is trying to drag us into. We do NOT have to go there.
Let’s quote Scripture when we think thoughts of doubt. Romans 8:1 is one of my favorites. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…(NIV). Also, have a song in your heart….even if it is only … Jesus loves me, this I know for the Bible tells me so….. We are NOT condemned we are Saved by Grace and NOT our works so no one can boast. We are saved to serve Jesus and trust and obey Him.
How awesome is that?
Totally awesome!
