Believer's Health
FAST TRACK TO WOUND HEALING
By Rolando Suffos MD
It seems to be that the fastest way to cure from a wound, at least for those small laboratory animals called Hamsters, is to stay in the company of at least another of its kind. Under such conditions, all other circumstances being the same, their torn skin returns to normal two times faster than when the poor fellows are kept alone.
This amazing result could lead researchers to investigate a little farther: What could happen if wounded Hamsters were kept close to a cat or to a snake? Were such a cruel test be carried out and its results published I would let you know as soon as possible, but most probably none of us need to read a report about that experiment. Without being Hamsters or scientific researchers we can predict its outcome by simply extrapolating our emotional experiences to the physical realm of these small Eurasian rodents.
Evidently, we all feel better in good company. God himself is and wants to be in good company, isn’t it what those words, “Let us make man” lead you to think?
No wonder then if we also want to have at least a few minutes of Christian fellowship through this column. Of course, ours will not be a physical company, but the sharing of thoughts and ideas could make us quite close. Frankly speaking, I need such closeness more than you. That is why my email suffos21@yahoo.es is included here. In case you would like to correspond with me do not worry, statistics say that very few people find time to write, therefore it would be always possible for me to have the pleasure of answering you.
One last word, please, do not be afraid of, or relegate this section on account of my profession. We will not concentrate on drugs, surgical interventions, viruses, incurable diseases, and all that terrifying stuff. Instead, spirituality a key forgotten factor in both physical well-being and good companionship, will never be absent from Believer’s Health.
