Believer's Bay

Believer's Bay

Sharing the Love of God with Common Sense

The Legend of the Lakes

By Merritt Letson

God paused one day and,
Looked down from above,
At the beautiful earth,
He created with love.

The trees of the forest so,
Green and so lush,
And the flowers and the creatures,
And the rivers that rush.

He was proud of His work,
And took special delight
In knowing that all,
He had done was so right.

Then He looked down at man,
Who was His finest creation,
And observed how they seemed,
To regress by generation.

He listened intently for,
His name in a prayer,
But only a few faint whispers,
Were there.

God bowed down and wept,
His head in His hands,
And His tears made the lakes,
That covers these lands.
