When we say we need a serious walk, what does that mean? 

What does a Christian walk look like?  What does it mean to have a serious Christian walk? 

Our walk can be after the customs of the world (Acts 21:21).   Our walk should however, be orderly and keeping the law of God (Acts 21:24).  We should be walking in the steps of the Faith of Abraham (Romans 4:12).

After we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we then walk in a newness of life (Romans 6:4).  Our walk is important.  Our walk is evidence of where we are going.  When we walk, we are moving.  We are either moving forward or backward.  The choice is ours.  We are either walking after the flesh, going backward, or we are walking after the Spirit of God, moving forward. 

Notice in Romans chapter 8.  There is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  If we are in Christ Jesus we are led by the Spirit of God and NOT the flesh.  Watch how this works. 

We are to be led by the Spirit and not the flesh.  The flesh is our carnality speaking to us, when we hear that carnal voice speaking to us, we can turn and walk the other way.  Our walk is important it can take us away from sin.  When we are walking the walk of Faith, many times we use our feet to walk it out.

That is amazing.  Our walk can take us away from evil or closer to righteousness. Our walk is a decision WE make.  It is a conscience decision to go either forward or backward. 

To walk means to go step by step (www.dictionary.com).  We walk the walk of Faith, step by step.  We walk the Christian walk step by step.  We are daily, hourly, and sometimes minute by minute given choices to make, step by step and decision by decision.  We have to determine the path before the choices come.  We have to determine the path we will take.  When we make this determination ahead of time we will make the right decisions, we will walk the walk of Faith because we have renewed our mind with the seriousness of our walk. 

When someone is serious about something they are determined to make progress.  To be serious is to be "characterized by deep thought"  (www.dictionary.com).  If our walk is serious we will be thinking about the direction we are going, this will be predetermined.  We will not only hear hears of the word, but doers as well. 

It is predetermined and thought out.  This is also called meditation.  Meditating on God's Law, the 10 Commandments.  Thinking about God's way, His righteousness and His truth.  This is thinking.  This is preparing to walk the walk.

Have we have forgotten how to think in this generation because of the virtual mindless activities activities, especially T.V.  We need to be thinkers, serious thinkers, ones who meditate on the law of God, the word of God, as David did. 

When we do this we will be doers of the word and not just hearers only.  The law of God gives us a road map showing us the direction we need go. 

Then, when the path is rough and the way is hard, the route will be easy because we have decided to follow Jesus.  We have decided to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.  Talk is cheap. walking the walk is about taking action.  Walking is a real action.  Talk is not a forward action.  Talk is not obedience.  Walking the walk is obeying Jesus.  Obeying the 10 Commandments.  Walking is going somewhere. 

Let's make sure our walk is serious. 

Let's make sure we are walking the walk of Faith through obedience.  

Father in Heaven,

Thank you for the path you give us to walk the walk.  You have given us the path of Jesus. Help us Lord to follow Jesus and walk in Faith, predetermined by the renewing of our minds to walk a serious walk of Faith. 

Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for us to give us eternal life and take away the condemnation and the sentence of death.  Thank you Jesus for your commitment to us for eternity. 

Lord, we ask you to help us to walk in the Faith and Joy and Love of Jesus Christ. 

Thank You Jesus for everything!!!
