Be All You Can Be

This month the topic is to be all we can be.  There are several ways of looking at this. Let's look at this topic in the physical and spiritual.  Actually, perhaps these two are more connected than we think.  The physical is linked to the spiritual and the spiritual is linked to the physical. I will explain.

When we are improving physically we will be better equipped spiritually. When we are growing spiritually we will make a difference in the physical.

First let me explain the physical to the spiritual.  The truth is if we are taking care of our bodies and making right choices to live a healthy life style, then we will be better equipped to listen to God.  We will be able to listen to God with a clear and alert mind.  If we are making the effort physically to pray each day and read the bible each day, then the spiritual blessings will come.  God does want us to put our foot forward.  When Moses lifted the rod, the Red Sea parted.  He was the instrument God used but he lifted the rod.

Next is the spiritual affecting the physical.  As the Lord leads us and we follow His will in our life we will see changes in our physical life.  When we trust and obey we will be blessed by Jesus' direction in our life. He is for us and not against us.  We will see blessings come because we see them now by being spiritually alert.  We will be given grace and favor.  We will begin to trust God more as we see His provision daily.

One of the verses in the bible that is very powerful and not read much at all is John 3:17.  Right after John 3:16, when the bible states God loved the world so much that He gave his only begotten son, so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life, then verse 17 is extremely encouraging.  Verse 17 states, that Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world, but that the world  through Him might be saved.  Jesus is for us.  He also gave us some very encouraging words just before He was crucified.  Please read John chapters 14 through 16 to be encouraged.

Some of the most inspiring scriptures in the bible are John 14:15-21, which states,  "If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. 19 In just a little while the world will not see me again, but you will. For I will live again, and you will, too. 20When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them.”

Jesus knew He had to leave, sacrifice his life, so we could be saved. But He also knew we would need supernatural help after He left. So the comforter was sent to lead us.  Interestingly, Jesus said the world does not receive help from the Holy Spirit. If we know Jesus as our savior we will hear and recognize the Holy Spirit.  What an awesome promise.

One more point. Let's notice in verse 15 Jesus said, "If you love me, obey my commandments...and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you."  If we love Jesus we will obey his commandments. We will obey if we know Him as savior.

Let's trust and obey.  Let's obey His commandments and listen to the Holy Spirit so we can be all we can be physically but more importantly spiritually..  So we can be more like Jesus.

Father in Heaven,

Thank you for sending Jesus to this earth to live a sinless life and die on the cross for all of our sins.

Thank you for giving us your word to show us the way and giving us fellow believers to share hope and truth.

We give you praise for all that you have done for us to show us the right path and

how to live in the kind of victory that Jesus wants us to live.

Thank you that we have your promise and we know healing is ours

because your word says, by His stripes we ARE healed.

Thank You Jesus for everything!!!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
