Knowing For Sure How To Hear From God (Expecting a Blessing) God always hears you. Your prayer is always heard by the God of all flesh and He wants to answer you, in the right way, in His time. The answer is always there and it is up to you to fine tune your receptors to hear His yes, no, or let me put you on hold for a minute, reply back to you. The purpose of this column, written at this time, is to answer why He puts us on hold for any length of time at all. The answer can be understood in a special way that I would like to explain right here during this column on Believersbay.com. We have seen something that is so revealing that we just had to tell our readers, our beautiful brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ; what we have discovered this week. As usual we have seen a revelation based upon our desire to learn something about the awesome presence of Jesus. Jesus wants to talk to us and since He is perfect then a silence from God is our problem we feel, and we have to see something that we have not seen before in our lives. This is the problem we may be having… in a new light. It is part of God’s character that He will treat everyone the same no matter who they are-He is an equal opportunity prayer hearing and prayer answering Lord. He is out to get all the glory that He can in the most unique ways. He is not satisfied with ordinary, run-of–the-mill ways of answering our prayers. He is interested in showing the enemy that he can use anything to give us an answer to our petitions when we ask them of Him. He delights in showing us His multitudinous diversity. We must learn this concept. Jesus is not boring and we need to recognize this fact. Many months ago I thought that I had the Word of the Lord on an issue that involved me to some extent, and I was not even aware of what God was doing at the time. God had an entirely different reason for answering the prayer the way that He did because He had other things to consider before answering my prayer. Let me be very direct and give an example of my train of thought here. Let us say that God wants you to give one hundred dollars into the offering this Sunday at your local worship center. As usual, the ushers takes up the collection in a basket made to order for this purpose. God knows, however, that the usher is wrestling with the concept of stealing from the offering basket. Therefore this is a complicated issue because there is another human being that God is allowing to grow spiritually stronger, by enduring the temptation to steal. God must give that saint the opportunity to rise or fall and ask for deliverance. I shall give another example that was gleaned from the book about George Mueller of Bristol in the 19th century. George Mueller was an apostle of faith and one of the mightiest men that I have ever read about in the area of faith. Mr. Mueller believed God would provide for the daily sustenance of over 2,000 orphans during the time period of the early eighteen hundreds in Great Britain that were under his care. After many years the supply withered to nothing and George Mueller’s staff of hundreds were discouraged that God would provide for their needs. Mr. Mueller remained faithful, yet some of his staff started to pack up and move away. It just so happened that the answer to their need was in a room that overlooked the orphanage down below in the form of a godly woman who could only see their despondency and lack of trust in God. Thankfully, the dear saintly woman prevailed upon Mr. Mueller to take her offering and support, thus saving the orphanage to continue their work. The answer was waiting all along to come into the orphanage, yet there was no way that God had not answered George Mueller’s prayer. God is not slack as some people consider slackness, and when you feel discouraged about your prayers not being answered, then ask the Lord to give you insight into the situation. Trust Jesus to operate in due time and He will answer your prayer. You will not be alone. Then you will be everything that God intended you to be …for…His Glory. |
