Healthy Harry says October 2006Happy Autumn! This is a beautiful time of the year in Florida. It is finally getting a little less humid, however, it is still hot. We have more breezes and everything still looks like summer, because we have not had any temperatures below 40 degrees. When that happens, then the grass turns brownish and some trees lose their leaves. I still have an over acid condition that requires calcium to neutralize. The other day I ate a lot of protein and other foods, such as baklava, which create acid, and I forgot to take a sufficient quantity of calcium. While bending over doing some cleaning, I experienced great pain in my lower back from the acidity. Live and learn! Life gets so busy some times that I forget that I need calcium and ester vitamin C for the inflammation. It took some pain patches, lots of water, calcium and ester vitamin C and a potassium mineral supplement before much of the pain diminished. Also my mother, wife, and I all are taking those mangosteen pills that my wife found on the Internet. They are improving our memories and over all health. Mangosteen has xanthones and many other vitamins in the pericarp. Another good thing that we ingest is chicken and fish. They are small animals that can be eaten in one or two sittings and are delicious. Some people tell me that they don’t eat any animal flesh and that might be the best for them. I like nuts of all kinds, especially almonds. I used to buy almond butter a lot, the non-roasted ones with very little salt. It was delicious on good health food store bread. May all of you who read this column enjoy the best of health as we move into this cooler time of the year. In the beautiful southern hemisphere may you enjoy springtime as the summer season approaches. Remember the apostle John’s letter that we all be in health and prosper. copyright © 2006 Harry Carry |
