God does have a plan for each of us. 

You might think, not me!

However, God's word says that He cares for us and He has a plan for us.  Why then do we have so many problems?  Why do things go wrong in our lives?

The answer to that question is relatively simple.  You see, we look at life much different than God does.  God has a plan and it is not to just make us comfortable.  Our plan for our lives usually are centered around living as pain free and trouble free as possible.  God is more concerned about our character than He is about our comfort. 

Scripture says, we learn from the things that we suffer. 

This is not a popular thought.  This is not something preached a lot from the pulpit.  We live in a culture, especially here in the United States, that is only interested in "what's in it for me?" or "How can I get more or get through life with as little difficulty and pain as possible?"

God is not as concerned about our comfort as He is our character. 

We learn from the difficult seas, not the calm seas.  When we experience trials and difficulties in this life we must remember Jesus knows what it is like to suffer.  He knows what it is like to live this physical life.  He even knows what it is like for a good friend to die.  He is now our high priest sitting at the right hand of God the Father.  He intercedes for us. 

There is a phrase, "No pain, no gain" that has a lot of truth in it.  We do learn from the things that we suffer... Jesus showed us how to even do that.  We need to learn more about Him and how He lived.  That is His plan for us. 

To walk like Jesus walked.

To talk like Jesus talked.

To love like Jesus loved.

Then He will show us even more of His plans for us. 

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, we request that You give us hearts to hear your voice.  We ask that you show us how to walk as Jesus walked and to talk as Jesus talked and to love as Jesus loved. Help us Lord to be more like Jesus.  We want to do your will in our lives.  Teach us Lord.  Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy as we learn to follow you!
