God’s Plan

It is rather audacious to say that we know what God’s plan is or what it will be.

How can we mere mortals know what is in the infinite mind of God?

Is it possible to see into His mind?

Maybe! …However, we do have a Great Commission!

It is our job to see that the people, who have not heard about Jesus, can hear about Him. The effect of hearing about Jesus, and what He did on the cross SHOULD affect the hearers with changes in their lives.

My son, Sean, told me the other day that he thinks people do not want to change. I have known people like that who did not want to change no matter what someone said to them. Frequently, I have said something to someone, and they have demonstrated an aversion to my side of the conversation.

These folks are not ready to listen to the Gospel.  I try to say something to people everyday, and let the Spirit of the Lord accomplish what He will accomplish in their lives.

I have seen people not understand my English in China. Many different types of language confusion arise from culture differences.  Adults, some with over twenty years studying English have not understood me, because of their different culture mindset.

This same Chinese culture despised having girls. I have even been told, and had it confirmed, that it is against the law to have a procedure to determine the gender of a baby before the fetus is born. The reason was population control, and not a decision to redecorate the baby’s room!

Here in America, I have seen confusion arising from different languages as well. In Arizona, it is beneficial to be bilingual in Spanish. Just looking at the signs of the voluminous merchants catering to the Hispanic community reminds me of being a foreigner in China.

The letters are more familiar, but the meaning is still mysterious most of the time. How can I know the meaning, unless I have a translator? I can easily see these verses of Scripture applying in real life now more than ever.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"  Rom 10:14-15 NIV

It is the plan of God our heavenly Father. He is all sufficient…He needs nobody…Yet this is what we have been told to achieve while we are here on this earth. As we articulate to the masses the eternal message of forgiveness, we have the deepest requirement met of our earthly existence

It is not a job, or at least it should not be thought of as one. It should be a passion! If we consider this a job, even a career, we lose sight of the purpose of our reality. We misplace the one idea, for which we live each and every day. The Great Commission was to give us purpose and fulfillment during our lives here on earth.

This idea, from our heavenly Father, eternally satisfies us the most deeply.

This is God’s plan!

What do you say we get to work?
