Sharing the Love of God with Common Sense

It is great to be back in America!

By Kevin Molloy

I have now seen the world’s biggest golf course in China, yet something wonderful happened to me the other day here in Arizona. My son Sean, and five year old grandson Joshua, and I decided to go out to the local par 3 golf course and play 18 holes of golf. I could only drive, because of my shoulder injury received while in China, so grandpa got the job of driving the golf cart!

It had been awhile since my son Sean had been golfing, and he wanted to be with the “guys” of the family. (The girls of the family play tennis with him) My son is an airline attendant and travels quite a bit, therefore, when he is in town; we try to spend his precious home time doing something fun as a family.

This time however, the Lord Jesus spoke to me, and said that He was going to bless me by showing me something marvelous… my inheritance. Now many people never see their children enjoy their inheritance.

We are not perfect, (whatever the reason His plan makes sense now), but at the time I thought I was dreaming that He had said that to me, even though I was wide awake! If anyone hears voices, I think usually, they are either hearing from God or hearing from the enemy, or caught up in their own vain imaginations.

It was the seventeenth hole when something happened to me that I will never forget. It was an event that will be forever indelibly imprinted upon my mind. It was one of those rare occurrences that seem to transcend normalcy. It was as if we were suspended in time.

Joshua putted his golf ball and made a ten foot putt into the hole and then loudly exclaimed a “thank you Jesus.” It was automatic and I was proud of my son for having taught his son Joshua daily the things of the Lord Jesus.

My son Sean then joined with him in expressing gratitude to Jesus for Joshua sinking the putt. Positive reinforcement is a great tool use with children, but I was seeing a father and son praise the Lord. Grandpa could only rejoice with them.

Next, Sean sunk a twenty foot putt and Joshua said, “Hallelujah ! Thank you Jesus” again where everyone could hear him nearby. Grandpa just sat in the golf cart, and bowed his head and praised the Lord Jesus for bringing him home to witness three generations of Molloys praising Jesus for something so simple as sinking a putt on the seventeenth hole of a par three golf course!

All three of us are proud of our relationship to Jesus!

This is my inheritance from the Lord!

I get to see my grandchildren every day of the week.
