Keeping our lives in the correct perspective can be difficult at times. It is inevitable that we will have difficulties in our lives. Whether these difficulties are in our families, at our job, or just in day to day living, we all have them. There are going to be times when people mistreat us or life mistreats us. That is a given. The important issue is what will we do about it and how do we handle it. We do have choices. When we are mistreated or misunderstood what is our attitude? Do we retaliate? Or do we do our best to act like Jesus would? Jesus does not want us to be doormats so He does want us to communicate with others, and let our issues or concerns be heard. However, when we are mistreated or misunderstood how do we handle that? Can we move on? Can we let it go? When we have been mistreated or misunderstood and nothing more can be done to fix it. How do we handle it? When it is not our fault do we have a RIGHT to hold a grudge? When we were RIGHT are we justified to hold on to the past? NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!! We have NO RIGHTS! Our duty is to FORGIVE! Our responsibility is to LET IT GO! In computers we have a delete button! We need a delete button in our lives. We need to DELETE the past hurts, the past abuse, the past wrongs that have been done to us. You might disagree with me because you were the one that was wronged; however, it is not about our rights it is about our responsibilities. We are to be like Jesus. Some of Jesus most famous words the last day of His crucifixion were "Forgive them for they know not what they do". He did NOT deserve that death. He knew he was dying for their sins. If we do not forgive those who do us wrong, God does not promise to forgive us of our sins. That is in the Lord's Prayer... "Forgive us as we forgive our debtors". To forgive is to DELETE. It is a decision we make not a feeling we follow. It is doable. Pray about it. Prayer: Father in Heaven, we come before you in prayer to request that You give us hearts to forgive. We ask You to give us the courage to forgive. We ask You to pour out Your peace in our lives, which is YOUR peace that surpasses our understanding. Thank you for the opportunity to learn to forgive and to let go; thank you for the opportunity that You are using to teach us to forgive and be more like Jesus. In Jesus' Holy and Precious Name we pray, Amen. Ro Roberta Lashua Publisher www.BelieversBay.Com
