Freedom
In the month of July the United States of America celebrates the holiday of Independence Day. This is about America declaring its independence from England. America wanted to chart their own course. America was growing and building on the strong foundation of the faith of the founding fathers.
Over these 230 years America has been on a journey. We were founded upon Christian values. Our forefathers wanted freedom of religion not freedom from religion. Our nation has taken freedom in the wrong direction. God wants us to have freedom. He wants us to have freedom FROM SIN! There is only ONE WAY to make that happen. It is Jesus. There is one way to receive salvation. It is Jesus. There is only one way to get FREE from sin. It is Jesus.
There is only one way to experience freedom. It is through Jesus.
There is a freedom we receive when we are Christians that those who have not become Christians do not know.
God knows there is joy in freedom, when it is freedom in Christ.
We need to realize that Jesus was God in the flesh. He came here to live that sinless life to qualify to die for us. He could die because he was human. He could die for our sins because he was sinless. He could live a sinless life because he was God. The good news is, that if we were the only one on this earth then Jesus would have come here and died for only us. Someone said, if that was true, we would have had to nail him to the cross. To that I say, WE DID nail him to the cross. Our sins nailed him to the cross.
In America we have the freedom to preach the GOOD NEWS of Jesus. This is valuable freedom.
Will we always have this freedom? Perhaps not. With the growing anti-Christian sentiments in this nation, it is conceivable that someday it may become illegal to be a Christian in America.
Already, the United States Army has forbidden the Christian Chaplains to pray in Jesus Name. The Muslims can pray to Allah.
Can we see the anti-Christian decisions being made in America? Could this be a beginning of the anti-Christ attitude?
Everyone worships something. We must make sure it is the one true God.
We must make sure we know Jesus, not just know about him but KNOW HIM. We must have a relationship with him.
