Jesus is Knocking! |
Jesus is coming to knock at the door of our hearts. As He knocks, He wants to come into our lives and dine with us. Just think the God who is above every other god in our lives wants to share pizza with us. Eating pizza with Jesus sounds like a commendable occupation of my time. I wonder if anyone else thinks like this ---eating pizza with Jesus, I know He would probably like anchovies on His pizza… he did so much with fish already when he was here in the flesh.
I can just picture in my mind the pizza man delivering the pizza and Jesus answers the door. He probably would look like this, as he saw the Lord Jesus take the pizza out of his hand while placing a $20 dollar bill in his hand and saying keep the change. When he returned to the hot oven restaurant where the pizza was made he would tell all of his friends who he saw on his last delivery and they would say “sure, sure buddy you have been working too hard around here! If it were me, I would need a couple of days off to recuperate from the experience! Eating pizza with Jesus, Now that is a great idea. Who would open the box first? “Now wait a minute,” I can hear Jesus say as He grabs our hands to pray. I envision Him asking His Father to bless the food… and remembering the miracle of the five thousand… I would have ordered a small pizza knowing what he would do next. Hey! Money is money right? We open the box and there is an extra large pizza with gobs and gobs of melted cheese and lots of pepperoni, ham, and mushrooms. My wife’s fondness for vegetables, because she is Chinese, would be on her side of the pizza of course. As we sit there eating the circle of culinary delight with pleasure, I can imagine as we gulp down the anchovies and pepperoni livened feast we would sing a few hymns that had a rock beat to them …you know something to keep the feet moving to a quick rhythm. As we eat, we notice that there is plenty of food for everyone! I guess I would volunteer to clean up the pizza boxes, I mean, after all, He did spring for the anchovies. This story would be fiction… I guess… unless… I invited Him in… and that is the meaning of the title of this story right??????? Copyright © 2006 Copyright Kevin Molloy. All rights reserved. | |
