Revive Us Lord!

Reviving us would imply we had life.  This cry, Revive us Lord, has been heard from Christians for centuries.  Each generation over the centuries must have felt like they were suffering more than the previous generation.  There is something unique about our generation.  We are definitely closer now to the return of Jesus Christ than we have ever been before.  

We need revival because we need to have the life and vitality and zeal of God in our lives.  This time of year many people make an effort to turn over a new leaf, make new year resolutions etc.  Many times that does not work.  Why?  Most likely because God has not had his hand in it.  Why?  Most likely because we have not asked Him.  Trying to overcome the human nature we fight against daily, without God's help would be like "driving" our car down the road by pushing it rather than starting the engine and using the power that is available to us.  When we don't seek God's help in our lives that is what we are doing. 

We need the Lord to help us to start our engine to success, even if it is just to loose five pounds or to keep the boss at work happy.  We need His help in all aspects of our life. 

This month and each month in 2006 we have a sub theme of "Pray My Children Pray".  That is the Lord's heart.  He wants us to pray, so we do our part and then He has permission to intervene in our lives. 

Remember, Jesus IS Lord!
