Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell is a witch?

Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell has confessed that she dabbled in witchcraft in high school after a video of an interview on the show Politically Incorrect from 1999 surfaced this week.

Ok, let’s look at this realistically.  Is she a witch?  No.  This was curiosity and experimentally that occurred in high school.  It’s not that big a deal.  Who among us hasn’t made bad decisions as a teenager while we were discovering the life we wanted to live?

God is the God of a second chance.  God also gives us all the right to choose freely the life we wish to live.  This is an election, not a church function.  The question to ask yourself isn’t whether she ever dabbled in witchcraft.  The question is who is she today?  Does she hold the views that are important to you?  Will she do a good job?  Then, if you live in Delaware, go vote for whomever you want.  It’s your right. ;)

Just for the record, the link above takes a little liberty to fudge what I wrote here and presents what I said in a different light. :)

Almost every candidate who is linked to any tea party groups is going to be a victim in a media “witch hunt” if you will. I think that she is the latest. I’m sure that there will be more conservatives who will be attacked by the mainstream (so clueless and biased really ) media. That’s how it seems to me anyway.

I totally agree with you. Obama is now on the prowl to begin discrediting the Tea Party. He’s challenged them to put forth specific policies. I guess he doesn’t listen very well. They’ve been sharing specifically what they want for months!

The problem is that this Tea Party bashing isn’t limited to the Democrats. The Republicans are bashing them too. The National Republican Senatorial Comittee initially refused to support her even though she won the nomination.

They quickly changed their tune though when the Republican National Comittee issued a statement backing her. Go figure. If the Republican Party can’t get its act together it’s no wonder Republican favorites and incumbents are being ousted by Tea Party members.

Here’s a Fox News article about it: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/09/15/rnc-supports-odonnell-delaware-nrsc-changes-tune

I recently watched HBOs Real Talk with bill mahar (forgive the spelling) He is the comedian turned political pundit, and religous naysayer. I must say that I have never seen anyone more in meed of a Savoir than him!
He makes no apologies about his hatred toward God, Jesus, and the church. In his mind anyone who believes in Jesus is an ‘idiot’. So when he leaked the video of an old “Politically Incorrect” show featuring Ms. O’donnell making the statements about her younger days it was no surprise. This is just another ploy by the media to discredit ANYTHING that is remotely Christian.
Look, as christians, we all have checkered pasts(some more checkered than others) even the Apostle Paul considered himself to be “chief among sinners”, Moses and David were murders, yet the important thing to glean out of this is what they became! God uses the worst of us to be the best of us! I was an athetist, dabbled in witchcraft, astrology, tarot cards, and drugs. I was a womanizer and verbally abusive to my wife yet when Jesus cauight a hold of my life I was never the same! There is little forgiveness in the secular society in which we live but we as christians should be the examples of forgiveness to the world. Ms. O’donnell has my vote! and I dont even live in Delaware.

Politics, like everything else in life, is a game that has rules. There are people who are good at succeeding by following the rules and there are some who are good at succeeding by breaking the rules. Then there are some who fail a lot. Christine O’Donnell appears to be one of those people.

She doesn’t follow the standard rules of politics. In this year of political redefinition that can be a good thing. She’s not adept at handling herself in an ocean of political sharks. However, she touches the common sense in those who have turned to the Tea Party, desperate for some relief from the political shenanigans of professional politicians.

She may not win because of her inexperience and her odd comments. Odd being defined as comments that show she’s not a Washington insider. However, there’s no denying that she’s won the hearts of people who have turned to her to find relief in an America gone mad.

Clearly the left is after her. They latch onto odd statements about youthful behavior and stress things that make her look like she’s politically inept. The right is after her because she doesn’t want to play ball and they just don’t believe she can win because she won’t follow THEIR playbook.

That means one thing. If she’s going to win the people in her state who want common sense solutions are going to have to flood the voting booths in droves. If they want her to win they’re going to have to make it a fact. It’s the American way that the government if formed by the people and of the people, not by the government and of the politicians.
